"REACH: part of our daily lives"

Some do not give a statement, others doubt whether or not REACH will be realistic. Most think that REACH will not be feasible in its current form. The most heard comments: it should be simpler and more cost-efficient. Most , however , are optimistic about the implementation of REACH. As Thomas Jakl (Austria) voices it: "It is not a myth anymore and it is not just a vision. REACH is becoming part of our daily lives very soon I think."

"I hope the results of the workshop won't be too generic"

Expectations of REACH-participants
A number of participants of the REACH Workshop have been called to ask what they expect of the upcoming workshop on REACH Impact Assessments. The expectations do not differ that much: most look forward to hearing the outcomes of, and the comparison with impact studies of other countries, and how they can use these results in their own countries . Margo Monaghan (Ireland): "I'm interested in what impacts member states have identified in their industry." Mr. P. Zabadala (Poland) confirms this as well: "I hope I have an opportunity to find out more about impact assessment in all member states. And I think that is most important for me."

Jasna Koblar, Slovenia
(Government Office for European Affairs)

"I have come to this workshop with high expectations. In our country, Holland has a name in reaching great results in complex situations. REACH is a priority for Slovenia. Let's hope that at the end of this workshop the delegates under Dutch chair will have reached a clear outcome!”
